Dave, what's the difference between the M1244 "A" vs. the "B"? Is it the polar pattern? Audix doesn't even have the A version listed on the regular products page. However you can find it using Google on their site. Strange. Maybe I should email Cliff...
Greg
Hey Greg, Difference is M1244 B will operate on 18V, it doesn't need 48V which the M1244 used to require. The A is the discontinued model as of this year which only operated on 48V. ther than that, they are the same. D
Dave, noticed your addition of the 91 to the kick drum, how does it stay in place with all the moving around that the kit does? Did you stick it to something in the drum?
Hey Dave, could you go into more detail about the drum riser? I'm curious about the rigging but more so how you get the audio off the riser to the rest of the world, doesn't look teathered in any way.
There actually is a hole in the middle of the riser with a tub that allows a power cable and snake to pass through. These wires and the control for the platter spin motor dangle and we have two crew on stage that manage them during the fly.
...no mic'ed cabs? I keep wondering...
Apart from this, I second the choice of mics. Audix sure rocks the bottom for modern rock :-)
hey dave, do you reverse phase when you do "under the cymbal" micing instead of overheads? i'm totally for the whole "heard not seen" approach.
