A: Oh Boy! Oh Boy! This is very good news, I hope everyone else is as curious about the outcome as I am!
Q: after the concert has finished can the t-shirts be sent back washed to the winning bidder with design intact?
Oct-26-06
A: Hmmmm, since we were just kind of going to print the ad on paper and tape it to our backs, there won't really be t-shirts per se with the ad on 'em. But... I would not be against packing the shirts up with paper ad taped to the back. As far as washing the shirts, hey, we are roadies, come on, we can barely keep our own clothes washed!
Q: In the event that self-promotion is of the preferred essence, you gents could promote your own blog since I MOBILIZED it. Simply text RATBLOG (well, you'll have to text @RATBLOG until my engineers get off their can and approve the word) to 4-4-6-3-6 to get the latest post in text and sign up for a text alert each time there is a new one. In fact, contact me and I'll kick in $$$ for each time you self-promote... since we both gain. Create your own mobile service at open.4info.net.

A: Wow, cool! I punched in thos #'s and blog came to phone! That is a whole new adventure but just the beginning bits. Dave Rat
Q: Dave, You are a true genius. To think we could have been doing this since the 80's. We could be retired by now. Will this revenue be part of settlement now? Seems like mgmnt will want their cut and of course the merch %, Facility surcharge, union fees and penalties not to mention state and local taxes. This may end up costing you money. Stick with the old carpet and be happy! Bryan

A: Hello Bryan, You bring up two excellent points. Had this advertising concept been implemented at an earlier decade, much income could have been generated. Imagine an ad on the back of a roadie on Black Flag tour, perhaps for Doc Martens shoes, the local pawn shop or discounts on safety pins. Oh, and on 80's metal tours, hair spray companies would have been crawling all over themselves and catchy slogans like: This band hair rocks with Aquanet! Upon roadie backs would be everywhere. As far as the various music industry standard expenses(oh, you forgot the record company), this is a concern. But I guess it is all just a tough part of the music business we are used to. But then, before hope is lost, imagine a lush and bountiful Front of House shangri-la. Our caged and barricaded world decorated with palm fronds and tiki lamps, an island of beauty a midst the sea of fluid fans. This is our dream, to build a roadie haven for us roadies separated from the remainder of the roadie herd during the rock show. DR
Q: GOOFYAUCTIONS would like to congratulate you on being featured on our website!!! We are also watching your item!!! Keep up the goofy work!!!
Oct-24-06
A: Thank you, thank you! I can sincerely say that we both very much appreciate the congratulations! And the honor of being featured as well. Though I am a bit puzzled by the whole -goofy- part of it. I thought we were just a small part of a worldwide trend of marketing roadies as advertising space.
Q: So can I put anything on the shirts..? left one -Brokeback Mountian- and the other one -I wish I knew how to quit you-
Oct-24-06
A: Although I fully can see how both of those ad's would form and excellent and creative foundation for your ad campaign, I am remiss to inform you that for this particular auction, both ad's must be the same.
Q: Will my ad go worldwide or just US? Will you provide printing and t-shirt? How will my roadie be shipped?
Oct-24-06
A: Will my ad go worldwide or just US? You can select any show worldwide that you wish to have your ad displayed. Though hopefully you don't wait for a show too far in the future as the anticipation of seeing it could be too much to bear. Will you provide printing and t-shirt? No, if you want us to wear a T-Shirt with your ad, you need to print them and send. As described above, if you send us a graphic of your ad, we will print it in color on paper and tape it to the back of our shirts. How will my roadie be shipped? Whoa, actually selling roadies is a bit beyond the scope of this auction, maybe try Craig's List if you want to purchase a roadie.
Q: Dave, You are the best!! A true innovator!! Wait til you see what I am going to put on your back!! Mike
Oct-23-06
A: Thank you Mike! And Uh Oh! Something tells me your mischievousness may be trouble!
Q: Hi. If I win, can you provide me with a photo of the rhoadies wearing my ad. Assuming I can, can we then use the photo on our website to further promote our organization? (FYI - our organization promotes all ages music clubs in a small town.) Thanks.
Oct-22-06
A: Absolutley, in fact we mention that in the details of the auction above. And absolutely again, please do use the photo we send you to further your world. Looking at what your orginization does, we would be honored to be a part of supporting it!
Q: Dave, why don't you auction the rug as a Red hot concert relic. It should go for a few bucks to some peppers fan. Great Blog. Joe Murphy
Oct-22-06
A: Hmmm, shipping it would be a bummer. Plus, roadies selling rock memorabilia is kind of frowned upon. A bit cheesey to be hawking bits from the tour you work. Our plan is so absurd that we figure people will be too busy laughing at us to be bothered by it. Oh, and we wanted to actually earn the $ for the redecoration while we are actually inside of the mix area. Like our own little micro world. Who would have known that you could make $ without leaving the safety of the FOH area?
Q: Hi! Before I bid, I had a few questions. 1, Can the ad be in color or is it limited to black and white? an 2, I have been to a few concerts and have noticed that the stage is usually very well lit most of the time but the 'island'in the arena where my ad will be displayed is rarely lit at all during the performers performance. Will there be special lighting just for my add?(I suppose this question is directed to Scott the Lampi) Thanks. soya
Oct-21-06
A: Hmmm, very good questions Mr. Soya. Yes, we are happy to say that color is all good! As far as lighting, we are roadies of integrity and quality and we are sure to devise some sort of proper illumating entity.
