This system was extremely compact and very powerful.
The tops were only 12" deep and 4.6 cu feet. By building the
system so small and high density, we were reaching the volume levels
of horn loaded systems while maintaining the sound quality of a direct
radiating PA. This was another experiment with an ultra compact line
array system. It worked well but had limitations. The
box to box phasing problems, when used in configurations more than
two boxes wide combined with the 18" to 12" transition was
to drastic. The 12"s just did not have enough low mids and that
was enough to inspire us to search for a better design. Bye
bye Thin Fills.
