Thanks for the info Jon.
I just need to power a small guitar rig, a rack of
efx/eq/paramatric/compressor etc. and a Mackie 1402
on top to keep it all in control. The house PA is
being handled by our crew, but we need to handle
our own rigs. I have a few transformers already, I
even have a rack mount motor-generator, but it weighs
a ton and is unfortunately not built to withstand
constant travel and the transformers don't convert the
hz. A few devices I've run into go nuts when fed
50hz power. My Peavey KB-60 practice amp, for example,
spits and hums a great deal more than a normal Peavey.
Some devices simply act strange at inappropriate times.
I can deal with metering everything and making an
adaptor cable if needed, but it's generating a nice
clean 120v/60hz that has me, well, more my budget,
stymied.

: Ladies, Gents,

: I'm going to be doing some touring in Europe and need to
: figure out a way to use whatever power the hosts throw at me.
: It could be anything from 120v/50hz to 240v/50hz. All
: of my equipment is American spec and needs a nice clean
: 120v/60hz. I found that Furman makes a converter called
: the AR-PRO that accepts pretty much anything and outputs
: 120v/60hz, but it's a bit costly at $2000.

: Does anyone else make something to solve this problem?

: Thanks
: Simon
