It is more resistance only if the speakers are connected in series. Most cabinets, when you connect them using the standard jacks on the back, are connected in parallel. One 8 ohm cabinet in parallel with another 8 ohm cabinet equals 4 ohms, as there is twice the room for electricty to travel through the system, which equals less resistance. Hope this makes sense. Just do a Google search for "+ohms +series +parallel +speaker" and read all about it. Or (heaven forbid) read the manual that came with your power amp. :^)
