As the venue sizes increased, we began searching for
a way to improve HF and UHF clarity in seats located in the far reaches
of arenas and stadiums. We often used a delay cluster to cover
the seats all the way in the back, but more and more we were seeing
venues that had areas that were required focused coverage at a relatively
long distance off to the sides. Our system naturally covered
these hard to reach areas with mid and low frequencies and it seems
to be considered acceptable by most touring productions to just write
off the difficult to cover areas as "cheap seats." The development
of the Rat Horn Packs solved these issues in even the most difficult
venues. They are highly directional and work extremely well
at covering areas greater than 500 ft away. What we had not
anticipated is that the Rat Horn Packs would work so well that they
eliminated the need for delay clusters saved considerable time and
truck space on our arena tours.
