Here is where the 10"s went from the horn loaded system.
These started out as a biamp wedge with piezos instead of the 1" drivers
, mainly due to our limited budget. Over time they were modified
and improved till they were triamped in the configuration shown. These
monitors had several advantages over a 15"/2" design. The 15"
operated from 45 HZ to 200 HZ. By sending the midrange frequencies
to the 10", the 15" was able to reproduce more low end. The
10"/1" provided a smooth vocal sound. These wedges were loud and sounded
good with very little EQ but were more expensive to build and power
than the typical monitors of the day.
